Slalom champion Henrik Kristoffersen missed the chance to equal the record for race wins in a season in the discipline??as Andre Myhrer claimed??victory in St Moritz on Sunday.

Kristoffersen had won six of the previous 10 slalom races in the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup and one more would have seen him become the fourth man to win seven, however he finished 19th out of 23.

The Norwegian was well off the pace in both runs in Switzerland as Myhrer claimed victory from overall champion Marcel Hirscher by 0.14 seconds.

It mattered little to Kristoffersen, though, as the 21-year-old was finally presented with his slalom globe, while Hirscher was left to celebrate an incredible fifth successive overall title.

Myhrer had been fourth after the opening run on Sunday but showed his consistency to record the win in an overall time of one minute 43.75 seconds, his other competitors falling away.

Daniel Yule was fastest early on but a disappointing second run saw him tumble down to 11th place, while Marc Schwarz also lost crucial time as he finished in a share of fourth with Julien Lizeroux.

Myhrer had no such problems, though, and he surged to a sixth World Cup triumph ahead of Hirscher and Sebastian Foss-Solevaag.
