76ers almost stun Warriors, Raptors make it 11 straight

The Philadelphia 76ers came so close to pulling off the upset of the season, while the Toronto Raptors extended their record winning streak.

Harrison Barnes saved the Golden State Warriors from a shock loss to the Philadelphia 76ers thanks to a three-pointer with 0.2 seconds left on the clock.

The 76ers came from 19 points down at three-quarter time to tie the game with seconds remaining in the final stages, but Barnes kept his cool to hit the shot that secured a 108-105 win for the Warriors at the Wells Fargo Centre.

Klay Thompson had 32 points and Stephen Curry scored 23 for the Warriors as they opened their three-game road trip with a sixth-straight victory.

Isaiah Canaan top-scored for the 76ers with 18 points as they dropped to 7-41 this season.

The Toronto Raptors extended their franchise-record winning run to 11 games after a 111-107 win over the Detroit Pistons.

DeMar DeRozan had 29 points for the Raptors, helped by Kyle Lowry (18) and Cory Joseph (16), while backup centre Bismack Biyombo added 12 points and 13 assists.

Reserve guard Brandon Jennings led the way for the Pistons with 22 points, while Andre Drummond had 11 points and 12 rebounds for an NBA-leading 39th double-double.

A strong first half from the Cleveland Cavaliers helped them to a 117-103 win against the San Antonio Spurs.

It was the second loss for the Spurs in their last three games after they went on a run of 13 consecutive victories.

LeBron James (29), Kevin Love (21) and Kyrie Irving (21) were the top scorers for the Cavaliers, with Kawhi Leonard contributing with 24 for the Spurs.

Elsewhere, the Washington Wizards sealed a one-point win in a thriller against the Houston Rockets, despite a 40-point haul from James Harden for the Rockets, winning 123-122.

In other results, the Indiana Pacers needed overtime to overcome the Denver Nuggets 109-105, the New Orleans Pelicans edged past the Brooklyn Nets 105-103, and the Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Sacramento Kings 121-117.
