Bath head coach Mike Ford has ruled out a move for Toulon's Delon Armitage.

Former England international Armitage has been linked with a return to the Premiership when his contract at the Stade Felix Mayol expires at the end of the season and Bath were credited with an interest in his signature.

The 32-year-old spent 10 years at London Irish before moving to the Top 14 side in 2012, playing a key part in their three successive Champions Cup triumphs.

Leigh Halfpenny's decision to remain at Toulon, despite interest from the likes of Wasps, Cardiff Blues and Scarlets, has cast doubt over Armitage's future.

The 26-cap full-back scored a try in Toulon's 19-14 win over Bath on Saturday, but Ford has denied the club are in talks to bring him to the Recreation Ground next season.

"We're definitely not interested in signing Delon," Ford told The Bath Chronicle.

"We have two fantastic full-backs in Anthony Watson and Tommy Homer and we've got other people who can play there."
