Max Verstappen insists he is fully focused on the Monaco Grand Prix after a "crazy" trip to the Netherlands following his maiden Formula One race win in Spain.

Less than a fortnight after being promoted to the Red Bull team from Toro Rosso, Verstappen capitalised on Mercedes' double retirement to become the youngest grand prix winner in history.

The victory was also the first by a Dutch driver and Verstappen was glad of the opportunity to visit his homeland after completing testing in Barcelona.

"After winning the Grand Prix last week, of course we had the test days afterwards so we had to stay there," he told Red Bull's official Twitter account. "We did some useful testing to get me used to the car even more.

"From thereon, we got back home - it was a bit crazy in Holland to be honest, which was very nice to see.

"[I] did some interviews and had some fun on the water with a nice jet ski.

"Now slowly you start to prepare again for Monaco.

"It will be very interesting. Normally the car should be strong there, so I'm definitely looking forward to it and it will be my second time in the car.

"There are still a lot of things to learn, but still a great feeling after winning."
