Stephen Appiah named as Peace Ambassador for election 2016

The former skipper of the Black Stars will advocate for peace in election 2016

Stephen Appiah was on Monday at the State Banquet Hall unveiled as the Peace and Unity ambassador for election 2016.

Rt. Rev Prof Emmanuel Asante, the chairman of the National Peace Council commended Appiah when he chaired the launch of the Peace Match ahead of the 2016 general elections in Ghana, before he bestowed on the ex-Black Stars skipper as the Peace and Unity Ambassador.

“He employed great great God given talent like many others to put Ghana on the world stage. A man who believes that a nations development rest on peace, unity and stability.

“This man is no other person than, the talented, great player and the former captain of the Black Stars. I have a singular honour to unveil him as the peace and unity ambassadors,” he told Pulse.com.gh.

The Peace Match is scheduled for June 8th and 11th, where two matches will be played: Asante Kotoko and International Stars, all over the world on 8 June, before Black stars meet the international stars in June 11.
