Sports minister jabs Avram Grant again

The sports minister has hit out at Black Stars coach Avram Grant again.

Youth and Sports Minister Nii Lantey Vanderpuye has claimed that “all of us can do” aspects of Ghana boss Avram Grant’s job as it exist in his latest jobe at the Israeli.

Vanderpuye has been criticial of Grant’s decision to spend most of his time abroad and pulled no punches at an interraction with members of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana on Monday when he addressed the subject.

“I don’t believe we just pay him fifty thousand dollars for him to come two weeks to a month to a match, select the players, play the match and after that go away and then he will be doing jobs on other radio and television stations outside, as for that all of us can do it,” he said.

Grant has been back in Accra for two weeks now and spent time travelling to the Tema, Dawu and Accra league centers. That has impressed Vanderpuye.

“I thank God that a new spirit has entered our local league and I want to commend the GFA and the Premier League Board for the new spirit. I was happy for the first time this year to have seen our National team coach at one of the matches. What do you think will happen to that player, when he gets to the field and he sees the Black Star coach, all of a sudden that player will be inspired for a possible selection to the national team,” he added.
