Kotoko edge Bechem United 2-0

The Porcupine Warriors continued their impressive pre-season form as they hit goals past the Bechem lads.

Asante Kotoko managed to beat Bechem United by 2-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi on Sunday in a pre-season game.

Two first half goals from Akwesi Nti and Dauda Mohammed gave the Porcupine Warriors an emphatic victory.

Bechem United started the game on a good note but failed to breach the resilient defence of Kotoko, before the home side took over the game and it wasn’t surprising when a combination between Bennett Ofori and Akwesi Nti, enabled the latter to break the dead lock in the 6th minute in his first start for the Porcupine Warriors.

Kotoko doubled their lead, after Elvis Amo was brought down and Dauda Mohammed made no mistake by converting beautifully from the resultant penalty kick for the pre-season champions.

Bechem United back from recess upped their game by dominating play, but couldn’t get the balls past the defence men of Kotoko, hence no more goals were scored.

The Ghana Premier League has been fixed on 20th February, 2016 and Asante Kotoko have been tipped to reclaim the title they lost to Ashgold last season due to their scintillating performance in the pre-season, having defeated Aduana Stars to win the G6.
