Ghana's opponent sack coach four days after appointment

Rwanda have fired interim coach Gilbert ‘Yaoundé’ Kanyankore, after just four days into his job as national team coach.

Although, they are still on the hunt for a sustentative coach, in the meantime Jimmy Mulisa has been named as the interim coach to prepare the team as they face Ghana on 3rd September in the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

“We have handed the duties of interim head coach to Jimmy as negotiations with the other two coaches (Kanyankore and Nshimiyimana) didn’t go as expected,” the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sports and Culture, Lt Col Patrice Rugambwa, told The New Times.

“They have told us that we are no longer Amavubi coaches, and we have to respect the decision,” Kanyankore said Tuesday morning.
