GFA didn't stand by me in my fight against racism- Sulley Muntari

Sulley Muntari walked off the field after he was racially abused by fans of Cagliari whiles playing for Pescara in May

The 32-year-old Ghanaian midfielder walked off the field after he was racially abused by a section of the Cagliari fans.

Muntari was handed a game ban, but the decision was rescinded by Italian FA Disciplinary Committee following pressure from international bodies.

The Ghana Football Association was earlier criticised for refusing to publicly release a statement in support of Sulley Muntari.

However, they indicated that he had officially communicated to Sulley Muntari after the racial abuse to stand by the Ghanaian midfielder.

Muntari, however in a latest interview has lashed out at the GFA for lying to the nation that they showed solidarity with him following the racial abuse.

“No they didn’t.”He said: “No I wasn’t” adding “one thing is that I am not a victim. I can handle myself. I can handle my situation. I’m not there for anyone to call and have pity for me. No. I was in, I can handle my situation and I go out of it,” he told Star FM.
