Kotoko sack Malik Jabir as coach

On 24th June, 2005, the Porcupine Warriors parted ways with Malik Jabir

Exactly 11 years today, the Interim Management Team (IMT) of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club has relieved Malik Jabir as the caretaker head coach of the Club with immediate effect.

A release signed by Alhaji Salifu Abubakari, Chairman of the IMT and issued to the Press in Kumasi on Friday, said assistant coach Karim Zito was to assume duty as caretaker coach until further notice. No reasons were given for Malik's dismissal.

Malik Jabir coached Asante Kotoko in the 1980’s and 1990’s. He was the assistant coach of the team when they won the Champions’ Cup in 1983 against Al Ahly and was the head coach when Kotoko finished runners up against Zamalek in 1993.
