Derek Boateng joins NASL side Rayo OKC

The new NASL franchise linked in with La Liga club, Rayo Vallecano confirmed the acquisition of the 32 year old Ghanaian international.

New NASL franchise Rayo Oklahoma who are backed by Spanish La Liga club, Rayo Vallecano announced another key acquisition ahead of their debut NASL (North American Soccer League) season which gets under way on April 2.

The club confirmed the signing of Ghanaian international Derek Boateng who was currently out of contract after his deal with Basque club, SD Eibarexpired at the end of last season. The free agent has a wealth of European club experience after spells in Spain with Getafe, Rayo Vallecano and Eibar. Boateng has also played his club football in countries such as Ukraine, Israel, Greece, Germany, Sweden and a spell in the English Premier League with West London Fulham FC.

The Accra born midfielder has also represented The Black Stars on 46 occasions scoring one goal for the national side.

Rayo OKC continue to announce new player's on a drip-feed basis and Boateng joins the likes ofMichel Garbini Pereira and Kosuke Kimura at the Oklahoma based franchise.
