Nigeria star woman Oshoala-I deserve to be crowned Africa’s best once again
The Nigerian superstar is optimistic she be crowned the finest player on the African continent for the second term

The 22-year-old striker had a successful campaign at both club and country, winning the FA Cup with Arsenal Ladies in the 2015-16 season and crowned the year with the Africa Women’s Championship with Nigeria.

Oshoala in an interview alongside her teammate Onome said she is hopeful her hard work in the year under review makes her a deserved candidate for the gong.

“Talking about that (Africa Women’s Player of the Year award), I think yes. I have been working hard since January. I feel very happy and humbled as well to be nominated and to be part of the five players shortlisted for the award,” she told Naira Bet TV.
"We have great players in Africa who play in different countries and clubs and also during the tournament a lot of great players were discovered.
“But we just have to have one winner. It is not just about who wins, but being noticed in Africa.”
She won the 2014 Africa Women’s Player of the Year, after she rose to the occasion to help Nigeria win their 9 Africa Women’s Championship.
