Tanzanian youngster dies after scoring fantastic goal

Ismail Mrisho Khalfan , a Mbao FC U20 player collapsed on the pitch and died when his team was playing against Mwadui FC in the Vodacom U20 league that is entering the penultimate stage

” I regret to announce the sudden death of Ismail Mrisho.He collapsed on the pitch during an U20 league match today .He was a Mbao FC player and the game was between his team and Mwadui U20.The TFF Medical team is following up this sad event very closely" Tanzanian Football Federation President told soka25east.

The player did not seem to be in pain or discomfort minutes to his collapse, as depicted in a video of his last moments, doing rounds on social media.

His case is similar to that of Cameroon international Marc Vivian Foe who collapsed and died in 2003 during a FIFA Confederations Cup clash against Colombia while in May, 2016, another Cameroonian, Patrick Ekeng died after collapsing on the field during a televised game in Romania.

Ekeng, a 26-year-old midfielder from Cameroon, played for Dinamo Bucharest.
