Video Watch Edin Dzeko given bizarre red card for pulling opponent’s shorts down

Edin Dzeko received one of the most bizarre red cards in the history of football as Bosnia Herzegovina played Greece in a World Cup qualifier on Sunday night.

Bosnia were 1-0 up at the time when Roma striker Dzeko got into a tangle with Sokratis Papastathopoulos.

And instead of the usual fisticuffs, the Bosnia star instead opted to whip his opponent’s shorts down.

“I got a red card for no reason, I don’t know why,” said Dzeko, fooling no one. “The referee says I started the whole thing, but I was the only one ending on the floor, so how could I have started it?”

Bosnia conceded in the dying seconds to draw 1-1.
