Spain appoint Luis Enrique as new head coach

Spain settle on Luis Enrique as head coach following World Cup quarter final exit to Russia

Luis Enrique is set to be the new man to manage the affairs of the Spanish national team as he signs a two year deal as the boss of “La Roja”.

Enrique who took charge of Barcelona from 2014 to 2017 had an outstanding time in Catolonia where he walked away with 2 league titles,3 Copa Del Reys and 1 UEFA Champions League.

Enrique was appointed Spain boss after Real Madrid legend Fernando Hierro exited his post following Spain’s knockout stage exit in the 2018 FIFA World Cup to host nation Russia.

Hierro refused to return to his role as technical director of the side and that eventually saw his exit.

Enrique who played for the Spanish national team from 1991 to 2002 has had stints with AS Roma and Celta Vigo as a manager
