Ex-Hearts of Oak coach confirms Techiman City's appointment

Coach Abubakar last season failed to help Heart of Lions beat the drop zone as the Kpando based club got relegated after 12 years premier league stay.

The coach after Heart of Lions demotion terminated his contract with the club and there were reports that he would be heading to Nigerian top-flight side Ifeanyi Ubah but the deal fell through.

Techiman City who qualified to Ghana’s elite division from zone one - premiership status is unstable as FA’s Ethics Committee last week demoted them to the country’s third-tier after they were found guilty of a match-fixing in their last season’s league game against Wa African Utd.

But the Techiman based club who have appealed the decision and filed for stay of execution have appointed Yusif Abubakar as head coach of the club and the experienced gaffer has confirmed his appointment to Pulse.com.gh.

“I can confirm that I’m now the new coach of Techiman City and I’m currently working with them ahead of the upcoming season. I don’t want to reveal the details in the contract but the most important thing is I’m with them now,” Coach Abubakar told Pulse.com.gh.

Abubakar had previously handled clubs like Berekum Chelsea, Medeama SC and Swedru All Blacks.
