The Phobians have gone three games without a win in all competitions and they are eyeing a win over the Sogakope based club to end their winless streak.
Hearts of Oak were ruthless at home when they started the campaign until they were halted by current league leaders Wa All Stars after going down by three goals to one.
Hearts of Oak over the week had a shock of their lives after they got eliminated from the MTN FA Cup competition by second-tier side Samartex but WAFA had a good result after they knocked out second-tier side Karela.
Despite WAFA’s impressive display in the season they have been bad away travelers – they have lost all their three away games but earning a point or the three maximum points against Hearts of Oak will be one of their biggest achievement in the ongoing season.
Hearts of Oak’s last Premier League game was a goalless away draw game at Techiman City while WAFA surprisingly drew 1-1 with struggling New Edubiase at home.
The Accra giants are currently at the second position with 14 points while WAFA are at the sixth position with 10 points.
Hearts of Oak winger Isaac Mensah ahead of the game spoke to Pulse.com.gh about his side’s chances.
“We know WAFA are one of the best teams in the league, in our last three games we have not picked a win, so we have no excuses than beat them for the three points.
“We have the men to achieve the needed results, I want to call on the fans to fill the stands and support us to victory and we will not disappoint them. We have learned a lot in our past game and we will correct our mistakes on Wednesday which is by winning.”
But WAFA’s captain Martin Antwi says they are not under pressure adding they will storm Accra to play their normal game.
“We are playing away and we will not be under any pressure, we will just play our normal game on the day because football is full of uncertainties.
“Nobody thought New Edubiase will earn a point at Sogakope but they did, so we are very calm ahead of the game and hopefully we will shock Hearts of Oak,” Antwi told Pulse.com.gh
