Amankwah Mireku slams Sergio Traguil over his substitutions

The Portuguese tactician who took over the club’s coaching role three weeks ago after the departure of Japanese-American trainer Kenichi Yatsuhashi and has played three Premier Leagues – winning one and drawing two.

The teeming fans of the club are not enthused with the current performance of the team but the club’s board holds a different view regarding the performance of the club.

However, ex-skipper of the club in assessing the performance of Traguil since he took over the job, has taken swipe at the 36 year-old trainer over his substitutions.

“I have studied one thing about the coach and that has been his short falls, his substitution is not good at all. But for now it is too early to say he is good or not,” Mireku told Hot FM.

But Mireku who led the club to lift the maiden edition of the CAF Confederation Cup in 2004 has hailed Traguil for the club’s new style of play.

“The new thing I have seen in Hearts of Oak play is how they possessed the ball for a long time unlike Kenichi Yatsuashi’s era that the players didn’t possess the ball. Now I’m seeing an improvement in how the players can hold onto the ball,” he added.

Hearts of Oak are third on the log sheet with 31 points after 18 Premier League games.
