Painting by Mark Rothko sells for $82 million

Mark Rothko's painting was one of the paintings auctioned on Wednesday, where it sold for a hefty $82 million.

The painting which was sold for nearly twice its estimated value fell short of the most-ever paid for one of his works: 'Orange, Red, Yellow,' which was sold for $86.88 million for in 2012.

The  $82 million sale came a day after Rothko's Untitled, (Yellow and Blue) sold for $46.5 at Sotheby's in New York.
