A 24-year-old was arrested by the Thibodaux police of Louisiana in the US on Monday after he reportedly called the police emergency number 911, just to ask them if they have any active warrant for his arrest.

Police are reported to have said that Christian Palacios called their outfit at about 10:15 p.m. for the flimsy reason, and when asked if he knew the difference between an emergency call and a non-emergency call, he said “yes”, meaning he was not ignorant of the law.

He was arrested and charged for abusing the emergency system.

If found guilty, he is likely to face 30 days in jail and a fine up to $500, according to worldwideweirdnews.com.

By way of educating the public to desist from misusing the emergency system, the police have warned that the 911 should be called only in emergency cases and their main phone lines for non-emergency situations.
