A duck has adopted a man to be his mum. Ian Lamble rescued the duck called Pumpkin from an abandoned nest and kept it warm and it now won't let him out of its sight.

Pumpkin follows Ian and his wife Annette around like a typical toddler - even taking walks with them when they visit their neighbours.

Ian told the Hull Daily Mail newspaper that his wife thought he was "quackers" when he brought an abandoned duckling home.

He said: "When it was just a few weeks old it used to sleep on my shoulder. We also gave it cuddly toys to sleep with."

But added: "But we don't want to get too attached because in the end we want to release him back into the wild. Its wings are growing and it could just take off one day."
