Pentecost elder kills himself

A presiding elder of the Abesewa branch of the Church of Pentecost has committed suicide by hanging.

A 49-year-old presiding elder of the Church of Pentecost has committed suicide at Abesewa in the Upper Denkyira municipality in the Central region.

The deceased, Allan Adams of the Abesewa branch of the Church of Pentecost hanged himself in his room Friday morning.

According to the Upper Denkyira Police Commander, Superintendent Dela Dadzi, the elder after morning devotion with his family requested for tea only to be found hanging in the room.

Neighbours who heard the news broke into Adams’ residence following an alarm from his family.

The body of the deceased has been taken to the Dunkwa Government Hospital morgue.
