A new underwater memorial honors US military veterans and serves as an artificial reef to preserve marine life
The Circle of Heroes is an underwater memorial honoring military veterans who served in the US Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, and Navy. Twelve statues were sunk in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida to create the memorial, and an additional twelve will be added in 2020. The memorial also acts as an artificial reef to help sustain marine life.
