Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa has revealed that he has a list of employee of former President Robert Mugabe who looted the national treasury and has given them a March 2018 deadline to voluntarily return the funds.
He made the claim on Thursday in an address to ZANU-PF party officials.
The President said, “Under the new administration, we have given three months for those who had taken money out of this country to bring it back. I did not say that without knowledge, I have a list of who took money out.”
The President stressed on his intention to name and shame the persons on his list.
“So in March 2018 when the period expires, those who would have not heeded my moratorium, I’ll name them,” he added.
President Mnangagwa became President last month after the resignation of Robert Mugabe who had ruled the country since 1987.
