However, they are moving up.

Women are beginning to pour into management and professional occupations that require more education and offer higher pay and status. In fact, women are now dominating some of the jobs that used to belong to men.

So the question is what are some of these jobs?

1. Commercial Driver

Females around the world drive all kinds of commercial cars, even trucks. It’s very rare to see a female driving a commercial vehicle in this side of town. But now the story is changing as women are taking up those careers.

2. Painting

For several decades, the room painting world has been almost exclusively dominated by men, and entrenched sexism presents a serious challenge for women breaking into the scene, both in terms of recognition for their work and their safety. The narrative is getting different in Ghana. Women are now taking painting jobs.

3.Shoe Making

Women in Ghana arent just claiming slaying queen titles but also putting their hands to making shoes. Gone are the days when women were just buyers of shoes but now they are also producing for me to wear.

4. Carpentry

Some Ghanaian women are starting to do traditionally male work and carpentry is an area of interest for certain women. Forget about the toughness, they are redefining the carpentry industry.

5.Photography

There a handful of professional female photographers but the job has been dominated by males in the country.

6.Barber

In Ghana, the barbering job is reserved strictly for men. It’s extremely rare to see a female barber. The furthest they’d go is to cut female hair.
