The University of Ghana academic and residential fees for the 2017/2018 academic year have not been increased nor rectified yet, the Dean of Students Affairs, Professor Francis K. Nunoo, has clarified.

He told the university’s radio station, Radio Univers on Friday, that the fees in the public domain are the draft proposed to the academic board for approval.

“The academic board is meeting this morning to ratify the fees. What you have out there in the public is the draft, the proposed so till the academic board approves it, it is still a proposed fee”, he said.

“That is the committee that works, they have been working over the long vacation to gather input from all the colleges and statutory bodies and this is put together. All statutory bodies give their input and then they meet up and come up with proposed fees”, he said.

Prof. Nunoo's intervention follows outrage over the draft fees by the continuing students of the university.

The Students Representative Council has also waded into the mater, describing the draft fees as an unacceptable.
