Expedite action on passing education bill into law – Catholic Bishops’ Conference

The Catholic Bishops' Conference asked that the legislature take into consideration the proposals made by the Christian Council of Ghana, the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference and other faith-based institutions.

The Catholic Bishops’ conference has asked Ghana’s legislature to speed up the process of passing the Education Bill into Law.

This was contained in the communiqué issued by the Conference after their annual plenary assembly held in Tamale in the Northern Region.

Most schools owned by religious bodies in the country have demanded a level of control over their institutions, but the government has been slow in taking a stance on this request. In the communiqué, they expressed hope that the bill, when passed, will bring more clarity in the roles of various stakeholders in managing the school.
