The Adehye Program

entrepreneurial boom for Ghanaian and African youth

The past 5-10 years has been an entrepreneurial boom for Ghanaian and African youth as a whole. There are currently more youth engaged in businesses than there has even been in the history of mankind. There are teenagers making more money off social media than their parents would ever earn in their day jobs.

However unlike youth in other parts of the world, the chances of youth in our part of the world making million dollar headway in their ventures is painfully slim. The reason is simple. While other parts of the world have developed a community of sorts to build and financially support their youth entrepreneurs, we are now realizing this need.

The Adehye Program, started in April 2017, is a Business Networking & Development and Idea Harvesting Program for start-ups and prospective youth entrepreneurs. Its core goal is to Connect, Build and Support start-ups and youth entrepreneurs.

Every month the Adehye gathers startups and prospective entrepreneurs between 18-25 years to network, connect with each other and gain insight on areas relevant to business growth. Topics such as Branding, Financial Planning, Finding the right investors, Customer Retention Strategies and Investments to take have been discussed at the Adehye Sessions by resource persons from institutions such as Databank and Delloite & Touche Ghana. The founders of Workshed Africa, Chaste Shoes and Creo Concepts have also graced the Adehye sessions to inspire likeminded youth. Recently, the October Session of the Adehye, focused on Emerging Technologies and Startups and was led by Global Business Keynote Speaker, Kwame Opoku.
