Presec wins 2017 robotics championship

Various schools from Ghana converged at the Knustford University College in Accra to compete in different categories of Robotic Prowess.

The 2017 Robofest qualifiers took place on Saturday, February 18, 2017 and witnessed PRESEC who were runners up of the last year competition, Archbishop Porter Girls’ SHS, Aburi Girls SHS, St. Augustine’s College, St. Francis Xavier Seminary, Wesley Girls’ SHS, GSTS among others.

Over 20,000 students have competed in Robofest, including teams from 13 US States, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia Egypt, England, France, Ghana, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Korea, Lebanon, Mexico, Singapore, and South Africa.

Prempeh College in Kumasi and Presec Boys’ Senior High School in Accra will represent Ghana after emerging winners of the ROBOGOLF challenge, a robotics competition put together by the Ghana Robotics Academy Foundation.

Robofest is a festival of competitions and events with autonomous robots that encourages students to have fun while learning principles of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) and Computer Science. Students design, construct, and program the robots. Any robotics kits are allowed in the construction of robots.
