Charlize Theron has revealed how she got so nervous when she met US President, Barack Obama, that she blurted out an invite to a strip club.
The Oscar-winning actress told Jimmy Kimmel of her âinappropriateâ proposal to the countryâs leader when she met him face-to-face.
Charlize came up with the idea after the President told her that appearing on shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live! allowed him to reach new audiences.
âI was really nervous. I was hiding in the back, and then someone from his team came to get me and ushered me over to him. He waited to meet me and it was a lot of pressure, and I was really nervous,â she recalled.
âAnd then there was this pause, and I didnât know what to say, and all I could come up with was, âWell, if youâre looking for a different demographic, I can take you to a strip clubâ,â she recalled.
The actress explained, âI have this thing that happens when I get nervous, that I get so nervous that I will say something really inappropriate. Itâs like Touretteâs in a weird way. Like, I donât know to stop it. Itâs like verbal diarrhoeaâ.
Fortunately for the Mad Max: Fury Road star, Obama took it in his stride.
âHe was so gracious and funny. He could tell that I was really nervous and he was nothing but lovely,â she said.
âAnd then I couldnât sleep for like four weeks, because every time I closed my eyes I went, âOh my God, I said that! Oh my God, why did I say that", she said.
