Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson, who is currently leading the #DumsorMustStop campaign has revealed that she spends whopping amount to fuel her generators monthly due to the persistent dumsor (power crisis), Adomfmonline.com has learned.
âEveryone in Ghana is suffering because of this Dumsor issue and I have a generator and a day I spend about GHC50 on fuel, if you multiply that by 30 days thatâs GHC1500. That amount can pay my electricity bills for a whole year. Even if I pay 100 Ghana a month for the electricity. School kids, patients at hospitals, business are suffering and I know you in the studio to some extent is feeling the heat too.
âI donât see this as a tough time at all. Iâm not really bothered about the comments. Iâm the voice for the voiceless and I havenât said anything bad. Itâs something thatâs happening. I didnât mention any political partyâs name. So if you feel offended by what I said then where is the democracy.
âI want to be that voice for the people so if any matter arises and I feel itâs worth speaking on, I will speak about it.
âI donât have any advice for him, Iâm sure where he has reached in his life heâs done well for himself and he should know what best for him.
âI donât know him and he hasnât called me to apologize. If a leader can say what he said then Iâm very disappointed. If a leader can say this then itâs unbelievable.â
âWhat he said hasnât gotten to me at all because I know what he said is not what I do. I am a citizen of Ghana and if something worries me I will speak about it.â
âI have nothing to say to him but Iâm disappointed a leader can say that. People around me canât believe he said that and it shocked many of them," she said.
