“Government is the reason why we're so stupid!!!!” – Lydia Forson

Her comments came in the wake the flood that claimed hundreds of lives last Wednesday.

Ghanaian actress, Lydia Forson says blaming every unfortunate occurrence on governments is not the solution to the country’s woes.

In a sarcastic Facebook post, the outspoken actress communicated that the flood that hit Accra, on Wednesday cannot be solely blamed on the government; the poor drainage system and gross indiscipline on the part of the citizenry all led to the unfortunate incident.

Ghana was submerged in flood following torrential and consistent rainfall especially in the capital city, Accra and certain parts of the country. Over 100 people were reported dead while properties running into millions of cedis destroyed by the torrential rains that fell for over three hours.

Following the incident, many have criticised government for failing to reduce the impact of floods in the major cities.

But Lydia Forson disagrees.
