Fashion Industry needs financial support to compete - Victoria Micheals

Top model, Victoria Micheals has appealed to government to financially support the fashion industry which will help them to compete in fashion world

International model, Victoria Michaels, has called on government and other stake holders to financially support and promote the fashion industry locally and across the globe.

Brand ambassador for Africa Fashion Week London 2015, Miss Michaels, said the Ghana Fashion Industry has not attained higher although there are creative designers and talented fashion models  because of lack of financial  support and promotion. She added, other African countries are ahead of Ghana because, all hands are on board to support the sector.

Expressing her joy and project for the industry as the new brand ambassador, Victoria revealed,“I am optimistic that this would pave a way for all Ghanaian designers to showcase their talent. I hope to use this platform to project the Victoria Michaels brand and secondly to also create opportunities for designers and models who would like to go to this part [London] of the world".

The Communications Director of Africa Fashion Week London(AFWL), Yetty Ogunnubi, explained the AFWL organizers chose Victoria out of the lot because, “she is passionate about the Africa fashion industry as well as made in Africa products and we felt like she is the best person to push the made in Africa products out [in London] there. That means Africa fashion designers and models".

Founder of AFWL, Ronke Ademiluyi, disclosed, “The Africa Fashion Week London has become bigger and better by the year, we are proud to be showcasing Africa to the world. I am particularly excited at the global media interest on the AFWL, it issimply amazing”.

The main event will take off in the London Olympia from August 7th-8th, 2015. Africa Fashion Week will be climaxed by a Gala Dinner and Awards Night at the Dorchester Hotel in London.

Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL) showcase African-inspired designs to the world and introduces the designers for bigger business opportunities.

According to the organizers,this year event will attract hundreds of Designers, Businesses and Exhibitors from across the globe. It is projected that over 20,000 patrons will be attending the AFWL 2015 event.
