My red carpet dresses cost GHS14 000

TV host Selorm Galley-Fiawoo says her dress for the Ghana Movie Awards cost GHS14 000.

As the host of the red carpet, the wife of hip life musician, Praye Tiatia wore a black ball gown with peacock feathers as embellishments from Ghanaian designer, Quophi Akotuah. She later changed to a slime green dress by Sima Brew for the main event.

According to entertainment blogger, Zion Felix who spoke to her after the show, Selly is reported to have said that she paid as much as GHS 14,000 to both designers for the gowns they made.

However several people including her fans have questioned the astronomical price of the two dresses calling it outrageous. Others have added that the on-air personality might not have that kind of money to afford a dress of that stature.

Selly Ghalley was Ghana’s BBA representative at the 2013 edition in South Africa and is currently a host on Joy Prime, a subsidiary of the multimedia group.
