Popular local comedian, Baba Spirit has entreated television networks in Ghana to consider inviting international actors to interview them on their local celebrity programmes.

He believed the current upsurge of foreign movies and telenovelas on local screens not only do they have cultural implications but it is also promoting foreign actors over the local ones in Ghana.

According to Baba Spirit if the TV networks would continue to promote foreign actors through the shows they air then he finds it only sensible to call foreign actors to interview them when they need celebrities on their entertainment shows.

“When you need celebrities to interview on your celebrity programmes, call Abi or Pragya," he said on Hot FM on Saturday in reference to "Kumkum Bhagya" show.

The latest from the actor comes after movie industry stakeholders called on the government to help bring the TV stations to order since the current trend regarding local movies has adverse effects on the Ghanaian movie industry.

Stakeholders were set to hold a rally to demonstrate the ongoing trend of foreign movies on local screens.
