Actor Takes Directorial debut, ‘Jimmy Goes to Nollywood’ To PAFF

Jimmy Jean-Louis takes makes his directorial debut with ‘Jimmy Goes to Nollywood’ showing at PAFF from this weekend.

Haitian heartthrob, Jimmy Jean-Louis, better known as ‘The Haitian’ from the hit TV show ‘Heroes’, has made his directorial debut with the  55-minute short documentary, ‘Jimmy Goes To Nollywood’. The documentary will screen at the 2015 Pan-African Film Festival in Los Angeles’ all-digital Rave Cinemas 15 Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza on Friday, February 6 (9:45pm); Sunday, February 8 (9:00pm); and Monday, February 16 (2:45pm),

‘Jimmy Goes to Nollywood’ shows the actors journey into Nollywood, that sees him visiting places like Ghana and Nigeria and working with some of the Africa’s biggest actors and film makers. With many placing it ahead of “Hollywood” and behind only India’s “Bollywood,” Nigeria’s “Nollywood” is the second largest film industry in the world in number of annual film productions. Using the African Movie Academy Award as a through line, actor Jimmy Jean-Louis guides viewers through the colorful panorama – with an insight into the heart of a burgeoning cinema in an Africa full of confidence. ‘Jimmy Goes to Nollywood’ stars Isaiah Washington, Leila Djansi, Kareem Kae Kazim, Majid Michel, Ayuko Babu, O.C. Ukeje.
