“I was paid GHC 40 for my first movie” - actress

Nana Ama who has become a household name recounted a few challenges she faced before becoming the renowned actress.

She revealed during this year’s edition of ‘Tek Talk’ at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) that’s she was paid GH¢40 for her role in a movie.

“Initially the made me a costumer which I thought was an easy job but I was disappointed. I could iron two maxi bags of clothes and do other stressful jobs but this did not deter me from pursuing my dream of becoming an actress. When later I was featured in a movie dubbed “Kae Dabi” I was paid only GH¢40,” she said.

According to her, the passion for acting drove her and made her persevere amidst the challenges she faced.

“Some of my colleagues gave up and quit but I persevered and that has made me what I am today. I am therefore urging you to be mindful that all is not rosy on the road to achieving your dreams,” she advised.
