Brand new season airs today

The first episode which premiers tonight features some of the beneficiaries of the Girl in Need Foundation. Some parents of the girls are also on the programme.

"It's new, exciting and really revamped... Or as I like to call it, spiced up".

That is how Dr. Gifty Anti, Chief Executive of GDA Concepts Ltd., producers of The Standpoint describes the new season of the show.

Gifty, perhaps, arguably, the most celebrated and decorated broadcast journalist of our time, is the host of the show.

The show is said to premier with better picture and sound quality, a new montage and signature tune. The new season is being shot with state of the art cameras and in HD. Well, after 7 years of telling the Feminine side, we say.. It's about time the show "upped its game",

This is what Gifty Anti, who uses her traditional name Naana Dansoa on Facebook, wrote on her personal wall and on The Standpoint's page.

"The New Season of The Standpoint premiers this friday 11th September. New segment added - A BIT OF ME, better and clearer picture and sound quality, interesting audience interaction and intelligent, frank, honest and exciting Panelists. Don't miss the First episode of The New Season this friday 11th September at 8 : 15pm on GTV and at www.thestandpoint.com.gh".

The panelist include Rabiu who had to drop out of school at the age of 16 and work at a construction site for 2 years, a young man who's wife died at the VRA gate at Akuse on the way to the hospital after delivering at home and a mother who's daughter was knocked down by trotro while selling sachet water on the street to make money to pay her school fees.

There are other beneficiaries in the audience who share their heart breaking stories as well.

Six Miss Malaika contestants who were in the audience as part of their charity work could not control their tears. The beauty pageant contestants were also there to interact with Dr. Gifty Anti who is also the Founder and President of the Girl in Need Foundation.

The Standpoint is aired on GTV at 8:15pm every Friday. The programme can also be watched at their website www.thestandpoint.com.gh. ABN TV, which is across Western Europe also airs The Standpoint.
