Obrafour, Kontihene, Qweci, Rex Omar, Ofori Amponsah; who made the best comeback?

Obrafour, Kontihene, Ofori Amponsah, Rex Omar and Qweci (formerly Ded Buddy) are some of the old top stars who made their comeback a success.

2015 has been another exciting year in the Ghanaian music industry due to the fact that some of the old faces tried to make a historic comeback.

While some had a successful comeback, others failed.

Obrafour, Kontihene, Ofori Amponsah, Rex Omar and Qweci (formerly Ded Buddy) are some of the old top stars who made their comeback a success.

‘Rap Sofour’ Obrafour made one of the best comebacks this year. His attempt started last year when he got featured on Sarkodie, M.anifest and other top stars’ tracks and ended up featuring M.anifest on his most successful comeback track dubbed “Odasani”.

He continued his success this year, dropping hits after hits including “Pimpinaa” featuring Bisa Kdei, “Twe Mame” featuring Lousika, “Nkontompo” and his latest hit “Aboa Oni Dua” featuring Nature (Red Eye).

“Esi” hitmaker, Nana Kontihene also made an astonishing comeback this year after announcing himself last year with a hit track “Etuom Esum”. In an attempt to complete his comeback, he dropped three hit songs this year namely “Juju” featuring Nero X, “Dedeede” featuring Yaa Pono and his latest “Gye Nyame” featuring Bibinii.

After a long stay in New York for business purposes, R&B star Qweci, formerly known Ded Buddy made a surprise comeback. His comeback attempt was last year when he dropped an Afro/R&B single dubbed “Saka Saka” (The Way She Dances) and sealed his comeback this year with an Afrobeats single “Fa B3 Wo” featuring Edem.

Highlife legend Rex Omar, found the industry lucrative this year or maybe to stay relevant in the industry, thus, he dropped a simple guitar Highlife single titled “Papa” and immediately exploded. He hasn’t played many gigs this year but his comeback has been successful.

Finally, the most talked about Pastor cum Highlife musician, Pastor Ofori Amponsah took the industry by storm when he announced his comeback to secular music with a Hiplife single titled “Alewa” featuring Sarkodie. His comeback was successful as his track his been topping charts and getting entertainment experts talking about it for weeks since its release.
