Sunyani Police ex-convict and accomplice for robbery

The Sunyani Police Command has arrested two robbers, one of them an ex-convict, who are alleged to have robbed residents in the Sunyani Municipality in the Brong Ahafo Region.

Confirming their arrest to the Daily Graphic in a telephone interview, the Brong Ahafo Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Mr Christopher Tawiah, said on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, four persons, including Attah and Abass, met at Attah’s home at Baakonuaba, a suburb of Sunyani, to hatch a plan to go on a robbery expedition in the Sunyani municipality.

He added that about 2 a.m that day, the four robbed a resident of Baakonuaba of laptop and its charger, a flat screen television set, an iPhone and its charger, a cheque book and GH¢688.60

ASP Tawiah said the robbers also took away an unspecified amount of Australian dollars, CFA, South African Rand, a Hummer 2 car’s spare key and a brown A4 envelope containing printed information about some Newmont employees.

He said about 8 a.m, the victim, Ms Herster Tweneboah Musgrave,  reported to the police that her home had been raided by thieves and the aforementioned items stolen.

ASP Tawiah also said when the two men were arrested, the police retrieved from them, 50 Congolese Francs, 2,650 Kenyan Shillings, 60 Naira, 500 Burkina Francs, 10,000 Guinea Francs and an unspecified amount of US dollars.

ASP Tawiah said other currencies retrieved from the two robbers were 145 United Arab Emirates Dirhams, GH¢688.00, as well as an Ecobank cheque book and a Hummer 2 car’s spare key.
