Woman commits suicide because her son's fiancée is too short
According to reports, the 47-year-old woman took her life because her sons fiancée is too short. Her dead body was later found in a river.

China's People's Daily reported that the woman’s body was found on Nov 17 in a river in Henan Province.
According to the report, the woman’s husband could not control himself upon seeing his wife’s body, and he jumped into the river. It is not clear whether his intention was to help retrieve the body of his wife or to equally commit suicide.

Their son also jumped into the river to rescue his father as he was seen struggling. They were both rescued by the police immediately.
Earlier reports said the woman decided to take her life because she could not afford a car as wedding gift requested by the daughter-in-law to be. However, Propaganda Department of Ningling County rubbished the claim, saying the deceased had taken her life because the son’s fiancée is too short.
