Man Kills 75 Year Old Man For Chatting With His Wife

A Seventy-five-year-old farmer, Metri Lloi,  is currently battling for life at the Tamale Teaching Hospital after he had his arm chopped off after being accused of flirting with a relation’s wife.According to Daily Guides, reports, The victim, who for weeks now is bedridden at the facility, had his right thigh hacked with medical personnel expressing fears over his ability to walk again considering the severity of his injury.The victim, according to the police, lives in the same community with suspect Dalabri Tibiri, 37 and has been a regular visitor to the home of the accused in view of their close relationship until the incident.According to the police, on the said date the victim passed by the house of the suspect to check on them as done always but only met the wife and decided to chat with the wife while waiting for him to return from an errand.Moments later, the suspect showed up and almost immediately stepped out without uttering a word to either his wife or their guest for reasons unknown.

He was later reported to have laid an ambush with a cutlass and when the old man was heading to his house, he pounced on him and inflicted multiple cutlass wounds on him after first cutting off his arm.

The victim was rescued by other residents who rushed him to the hospital while the suspect was overpowered, arrested and handed over to the police for nearly ending the life of Metri Lloi.

Later in his caution statement to the police, Dalabri Tibiri accused the victim of launching an attack on him days earlier, but when asked to prove his claim he was found wanting.

The Nalerigu District Magistrate Court presided over by Robert Agbleze had remanded the suspect in prison custody to reappear on March 19, 2015 on charges of attempted murder and causing harm.

At the time of going to the press, efforts were underway by officials of the Tamale Teaching Hospital to transfer the victim to a facility in Koforidua for a special care.

The victim could neither speak nor properly eat as relations struggled to get essential drugs to soothe his pain

Meanwhile, police have invited the woman at the centre of controversy for questioning to ascertain if indeed she was in any form of amorous sexual relationship with the victim.
