According to him, he rushed to the scene only to realise upon arrival that, the robbers allegedly took advantage of the absence of a private security man employed to keep vigil over the place at night.

Bishop Dr. Richard Owusu Akyeaw further alleged that the burglars entered the church through the back window after cutting the metal mesh with a very sharp implement they left behind.

He said when questioned, the private security man by name Thomas, initially claimed he left the place at about 0530 hours prior to the incident.

Bishop Akyeaw said upon further interrogation, Thomas made a rather suspicious claim that he had followed a telephone call from his wife at 0900 hours that, one of his children was sick, for which reason he found it necessary to vacate his post and could not return the same day.
