I dress fashionably to promote ‘Made in Ghana’ products- Samira Bawumia

The wife of the vice president of Ghana, Samira Bawumia, opens up about her style inspiration.

Samira has impressively achieved the feat of redefining the politics of fashion with her exquisite fashion taste and graceful appearance in Ghanaian fabric and we all live for that.

Samira in hosting the International Women's Day edition of The Morning Starr yesterday, she broke the silence about her style game that constantly gets us awestruck.

According to the second lady, almost everything she wears is locally-made and she loves the designs because “they are exquisite.” She has also mentioned that she does not try to make any fashion statement with her style of dressing.

“I don't try to say anything with my fashion. I just want to be me. It is an expression of me but it is also a celebration of the talents we have in Ghana. Most of what I wear is made in Ghana and they are exquisite designs that our Ghanaians make. And the people who make clothes for me have seen their businesses booming. So for me, it’s also supporting the industry and showcasing Ghanaian fabrics, talents and boosting the industry,” she said.

Samira Bawumia’s enviable fashion sense has garnered much attention over the period and she now stands as a celebrated fashion icon in Ghana. Her style qualities won her the mega award for the Style Icon Of the Year at the Glitz Style and Fashion Awards last year.
