Lordina Mahama and Samira Bawumia bring fashion game to 2016 Presidential Race

Throughout time attending rallies, they’ve always strived to look beautiful. What fashion strides have they been making in this regard? Pulse Ghana takes a look at some snap shots.

Samira Bawumia

Lordina Mahama is primarily known for being the First Lady of the Republic of Ghana, a role she’s occupied since July 2012 when her husband John Dramani Mahama first ascended to the presidency following the death of former President J.E.A Mills, but there is much more to her profile.

Born Lordina Effah, the 53-year-old served as a Member of Parliament for Bole Bamboi during the 2000s. She is a stateswoman, a women and children’s rights activist as well as a philanthropist.

Samira Bawumia  is the wife of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) running mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. She was born to a politician, Alhaji Ahmed Ramadan, the National Chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC) and Ahjia Ayesha Ramadan.

As the 2016 Ghana General Elections draws closer, these two women have been seen mostly campaigning and supporting their husbands in diverse ways. Both women are keen on bringing their personalities on board to influence voters in choosing their husbands. And a lot of this personality rides on appearance.
