A live-action movie is in the works at Disney

A live-action for the 1937 "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" is currently in the works.

Erin Cressida Wilsor will pen the script, which will feature songs by songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, while Marc Platt will executive produce the classic remake.

The original film which was released in 1937 was the studio's first animated film and features the voices of Adriana Caselotti as Snow White, Roy Atwell as Doc, Stuart Buchanan as the Huntsman, Lucille La Verne as Witch, Moroni Olsen as Magic Mirror, Harry Stockwell as Prince, Eddie Collins as Dopey, Pinto Colvig as Sleepy/Grumpy; Billy Gilbert as Sneezy, Otis Harlan as Happy and Scotty Mattraw as Bashful.

In 2012, a "Snow White" movie titled "Snow White and the Huntsman" was released. The movie which stars Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron made $396m worldwide. Its 2016 prequel turned out to be a box office failure.

"Snow White" joins classics like "Lion King," "Aladdin," "Beauty and The Beast" and "Dumbo" which are re-imagined for a contemporary audience.
