Chief of the Denkyira, Krontihene Odiamono Twum Barimah II, condemned the murder of the soldier announcing that the special pacification and purification service will also be held to ask for spiritual intervention.

He called on all resident of Denkyira to clad themselves in black attire on the day.

He, however, urged the government to inform them of further developments on the issue.

Captain Maxwell Mahama met his untimely death when some residents of Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region lynched him.

However, four prime suspects arrested in connection with the murder of a military officer have been sent to the Central Regional Police Headquarters in Cape Coast.

The Central Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Irene Oppong, speaking to the media said "security situation is under control after a meeting with the District Security Council (DISEC) this morning."
