The Money Man will take home a minimum $100 million as Conor McGregor gets $30 million dollars for getting himself beaten.

Converting $100 million to Cedis, we will have GHC 443 million. According to PricewaterhouseCoopers, the budget allocation for Key Policy Initiatives in the 2017 budget of the Nana Addo-led government is 2.079 billion.

If Mayweather decides to give all of the $100 million (GHC 443 million) to Ghana, below are the things it can be used for from the country’s budget.

• Free SHS

In the 2017 budget, the Finance Minister announced that they have estimated to use GHC 400 million for the much-touted policy. The policy is expected to start in September 2017, which will be the beginning of the 2017/2018 academic year.

• Reinstitution of Nurses & Teachers Trainee Allowances

During the campaign, the then opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) promised to reinstitute the nurses and teacher trainee allowance which was withdrawn by the erstwhile Mahama administration.

In the 2017 budget, it was stated that the policy will cost GHC 252million.

• Venture Capital Trust Fund (VCTF)

The VCTF was established by the Venture Capital Trust Fund Act, 2004, Act 680, with the objective of not only providing financial resources to SMEs but to also initiate relevant activities for the development and promotion of the venture capital industry in the country.

For the first time in 4 years, VCTF has been allocated GHC 219 in the 2017 budget.

• National Identification Scheme

The governing NPP has promised to ensure the first proposed Ghana National Identity Card is issued on September 15, 2017.

In the 2017 budget, the governing-NPP allocated GHC 100million for this purpose.

• National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP)

The NEIP is a multifaceted initiative that comprises of an incubator program for potential entrepreneurs, financing and business development services, advisory on access to the market, among others.

The government in its 2017 budget allotted GHC 44million for the programme.

• National Address System

The National Address System is to help reduce the risk profile of people and improve their access to financial services.

In the 2017 budget, the Finance Minister allocated GHC 11million to the programme.
