President Mahama meets Francois Hollande on Climate change

This meeting is taking place ahead of the COP 21 Heads of State Summit.

President John Mahama is in Paris, France, for a meeting with French President, Francois Hollande on Climate Change and Electrification for Africa Project.

The meeting at the Elysee Palace is being attended by four other African Leaders.

President Mahama who is on his way to Malta for a meeting on Migration is expected to put forward Ghana and Africa's position on Climate Change.

COP 21 also known as the 2015 Paris Climate Conference will for the first time in over 20 years of UN negotiations aim to achieve a legally binding and universal agreement on climate change, with the aim of keeping global warming below 2 degrees Celsius.

The conference is expected to attract close to 50,000 participants including 25,000 official delegates from government, intergovernmental organization UN agencies, NGOs and civil society. It takes place on the 30th of November to 11 December 2015.
