The aggrieved residents did the unthinkable when they decided to tie a local ‘juju’ to a pole at the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) in a bid to deter officials of the company from cutting power supply to them.

However, the IBEDC argues that the residents were only doing so to avoid paying their electricity bills.

In a tweet, the company said: "Lol, some Nigerians will do anything to avoid paying bills. As seen in Oyo state. Have a great week!"

Some Nigerians have already expressed displeasure over what they say are exorbitant and estimated bills from their power producers.
